BUTUAN CITY – Classes in the province of Surigao del Sur, along with the municipalities of Rosario, Veruela and San Francisco in Agusan del Sur province, are back to normal today after it has been suspended earlier Wednesday afternoon due to flooding brought by unrelenting rains.
According to Ronald Anthony Briol, spokesperson of the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD-Caraga), the local chief executives in the affected areas have chosen to suspend classes at all levels, both private and public, to ensure the safety of the pupils and the students especially that water level from their water tributaries and rivers are overflowing due to the unrelenting rainfall brought about by the easterlies.
The affected local government unit are also coordinating with concerned government agencies to report the possible damages caused by such flooding.
