BUTUAN CITY – Rep. Alan Uno Ecleo of Dinagat Islands caused a stir during the “Himamat 2025” event organized by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) provincial office when he abruptly dropped the microphone and walked out of the venue.
A viral video showed Ecleo initially delivering his speech smoothly, but as the program moderator prepared to thank him while the timer ran out, the congressman threw the mic on the floor and left the stage.
His team who followed right after, announced that Ecleo had an urgent appointment and needed to leave, despite the program still being ongoing.
The incident came just a day after Ecleo faced backlash for signing the impeachment motion against Vice President Sara Duterte.
