BUTUAN CITY- Joint forces of the 75th Infantry “Marauder” Battalion led by LTC Earl C Pardillo, Commanding Officer, 3rd Special Forces “Arrowhead” Battalion led by LTC Jayson F Pangandoyon, Commanding Officer under the operational control of the 401st Infantry Brigade successfully neutralized a high-ranking leader of the CTG under NEMRC and capture of one (1) CTG Member during an armed encounter in Sitio Casting, Brgy Bayan, Marihatag, Surigao del Sur on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Troops from the 75IB and 3SFB under 401Bde engaged the elements of the NPA, resulting in the death of Edilberto Daval alias “Bong/Waco/Bill,” identified as 2nd Deputy Secretary, Executive Committee, NEMRC, and Commanding Officer, ROC, NEMRC and and one (1) captured identified as Jaymark Bada Lamela alias “Miggy/Migz”, security Member of ROC, NEMRC. Government forces also recovered one (1) Tavor TAR-21 assault rifle, and one (1) R4 from the encounter site.
It can be recalled that a series of encounters neutralized CTG members, including the wife of Bong/Waco, Lucena Canda alias Louise/Madi, during an encounter on 17 April 2026.
“This development marks the continuing collapse of the CTG’s leadership and operational capability in NEMRC,” said Col. Glenn Joy U. Aynera, Acting Commander of the 401st Infantry Brigade. “The neutralization of key CTG personalities disrupts their remaining network and reflects the effectiveness of sustained military operations and strong community support in maintaining peace and security in the region.”
Col. Aynera added: “We continue to call on the remaining CTG members to abandon the armed struggle and return peacefully to the folds of the law while they still have the chance. The government is ready to assist them thru various reintegration programs so they can rebuild their lives & reunite with their families.”
