Teacher dies in head-on motorcycle collision in Makilala, Cotabato

BUTUAN CITY – A school teacher, Maryell Ubana Decano, died from injuries after a head-on collision between two motorcycles along a highway in Barangay Poblacion, Makilala, Cotabato, on Thursday morning, January 30.

Police reports indicate that Decano, 33, and her husband, Edmar, were on their way to the Makilala Institute of Science and Technology when their motorcycle collided with one driven by Richard Damali Emban, who was traveling in the opposite direction.

Decano fell onto the concrete pavement, losing consciousness, and later succumbed to her injuries at a nearby hospital.

Her husband and Emban sustained bruises and contusions in the accident.

Local police and emergency responders are investigating the cause of the crash.
