BUTUAN CITY –President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Henry Rhoel Aguda as the new Secretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
Aguda, who has extensive experience in the banking, technology, and telecommunications sectors, previously served as the president and CEO of UnionDigital Bank and led various roles in major companies, including software development at WeServ Systems International, information operations at Nextel, and assistant vice president at Bayantel Communication Holdings. He also managed the corporate data network for the Manila Electric Company.
Aguda replaces Ivan John Uy, who resigned in March 2025. In addition, Aguda has served as the Digital Infrastructure Lead for the Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) and has held leadership positions at City Savings Bank, UBX Philippines, and several other organizations.
His appointment comes as part of his continued contributions to fostering innovation in both the private and public sectors.
