A powerful aftershock measuring Magnitude 4.6 struck Northern Cebu at approximately 5:41 PM on October 4, 2025. The tremor, which was felt across several areas in the region, was recorded by a CCTV camera in Don Gregorio Antigua, Borbon, Cebu.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) confirmed the earthquake’s intensity, which varied across different locations:
- Intensity V – City of Bogo, Cebu
- Intensity IV – Tabogon, Cebu
- Intensity II – City of Lapu-Lapu
- Intensity I – Argao, Cebu
In addition to these reports, instrumental measurements of the earthquake’s impact showed the following intensities:
- Intensity II – City of Cebu, Asturias (Cebu), Hilongos (Leyte)
- Intensity I – City of Lapu-Lapu, Talisay, Argao (Cebu), Abuyog, Carigara (Leyte), Ormoc (Leyte), Bago (Negros Occidental), Hinunangan (Southern Leyte)
The aftershock caused noticeable shaking in various parts of Cebu, with many residents reporting feeling the tremor. Fortunately, no immediate reports of casualties or significant damage have been made.
