BUTUAN CITY – A dispatcher is currently undergoing treatment at Butuan Medical Center after being shot in Brgy. Ampayon in Butuan City last night.
The victim, identified only by the alias “Tuko,” is married and a resident of Brgy. Basag in the same city.
It was learned that the victim was suddenly shot while standing by the side of the national highway in P-4 of the said barangay.
According to witness Trinidad Calumba, a vendor at a stall where the crime took place, the victim himself went to Butuan City Police Station 4 after being shot because there were no police officers at the nearby police box where the incident occurred, before he was taken to the hospital.
Meanwhile, fellow dispatcher Rogelio Molleida also felt fear, as they were standing next to each other when the shooting happened, prompting him to immediately hide.
