Iran has launched missiles at the U.S.-run Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar in direct retaliation for U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend, officials confirmed Tuesday.

Qatar called the attack a “flagrant violation” of its sovereignty, adding that all missiles were intercepted and no casualties have been reported. The country has temporarily closed its airspace and urged U.S. and U.K. citizens to shelter in place.

The strike follows days of escalating conflict after the U.S. targeted three nuclear sites inside Iran. Israel has also intensified its campaign against Tehran, striking access routes to Iran’s Fordo nuclear site and Evin prison.

In Washington, former President Donald Trump is holding an emergency Situation Room meeting with defense officials as tensions continue to rise.
