BUTUAN CITY –A photographer from Butuan City has publicly shared allegations of harassment during a job interview through a post on his social media account.
Christian Licup, who was seeking additional work to support his family, attended a meeting with a local “known designer,” which he believed would be a professional opportunity. However, the interview quickly took an uncomfortable turn when the designer allegedly took inappropriate body measurements and pressured Licup into wearing clothing he felt uncomfortable with.
Despite his unease, Licup said he stayed in the situation, unsure how to leave without jeopardizing the potential job. Eventually, he decided to walk away, feeling violated and shaken by the experience.
In his social media post, Christian described the incident and expressed his hope to warn others about the risks of professional interactions that cross boundaries.
Meanwhile, Butuan’s Mister Pilipinas Worldwide representative, Jacinth Ziff, also shared his story on social media. Jacinth spoke out about being harassed by his pageant handler, specifically the day before the pageant screening in Manila.
He further explained that his handler had booked a hotel room with only one bed. What was supposed to be a restful night turned into his biggest trauma when the handler took the opportunity to physically harass him.
Jacinth also mentioned that he went to the bathroom twice to cry after being forced to wear clothes he wasn’t comfortable with.
He went on to say that the handler’s treatment of him began to deteriorate in the months leading up to the pageant’s big night. He explained that he was not properly provided with accommodations and that there were times when he wasn’t sent outfits, forcing him to borrow clothes from other candidates.
Jacinth warned those entering pageantry to be cautious and to reach out to him or someone they trust before accepting any management or handler.
Bombo Radyo Butuan is currently reaching out to the involved parties for further statements.
