BUTUAN CITY – Public satisfaction with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte has reached its lowest point since their landslide victory in the 2022 elections, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
Despite still receiving majority positive feedback, both officials saw significant drops in their net satisfaction ratings during the survey conducted from December 12 to 18, 2024.
According to the survey, Marcos’ net satisfaction rating fell by 13 points, from a “good” +32 in September to a “moderate” +19 last December last year.
This marks his lowest rating since taking office, with a noticeable decline across all regions, especially in Mindanao, which is Duterte’s stronghold.
Vice President Duterte also experienced a decline in her ratings, though she remains in the “moderate” range, dropping from +27 in September 2024 to +21 in December.
Her satisfaction ratings have decreased since October 2022, when she enjoyed an “excellent” rating of +73.
The decline followed controversies over the use of confidential funds, which hurt her popularity.
Despite the drop, Duterte still has the highest satisfaction rating in Mindanao, although her ratings in Metro Manila have turned negative.
The survey, which had 2,160 respondents, reflected similar trends seen in other polls by Pulse Asia and OCTA Research.
