BUTUAN CITY- The Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP), through its Chairperson Danilo “Ka Daning” Ramos, strongly asserted that the impeachment complaint filed against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is sufficient in form and substance, contrary to claims that the first two allegations lack merit.
Ramos emphasized that Article XI, Section 2 of the Constitution clearly provides grounds for impeachment such as culpable violation of the Constitution, treason, graft and corruption, and betrayal of public trust.
The Makabayan Coalition, together with KMP led by Secretary General Ronie Manalo, cited the ₱213.8 billion unprogrammed funds under Marcos, the ₱89.9 billion PhilHealth funds diverted to the Maharlika Investment Fund in 2024, and flood control projects allegedly lost or misused from 2023 to 2025 as documented by IBON Foundation.
According to KMP, these amounts could have purchased 6.27 million metric tons of rice, equivalent to 33% of total rice production at ₱24 per kilo, underscoring the gravity of the alleged violations.
