BUTUAN CITY-Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP) Chairperson Danilo “Ka Daning” Ramos stressed that the impeachment complaint against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has clear basis and should not be dismissed, urging lawmakers to prioritize the people’s interests over defending the President.
Ramos pointed out the worsening poverty faced by Filipinos compared to the lavish lifestyles of officials, saying accountability must reach the highest leaders, whom he described as “King of Corruption” Marcos and “Queen” Vice President Sara Duterte. He warned that if Congress kills the complaint in plenary, it will betray the people’s struggle.
Ramos called on citizens across Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and overseas Filipinos to unite and join mass actions on February 25, the 48th anniversary of the People Power Uprising, to express anger and dismay alongside farmers.
