BUTUAN CITY – Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque announced on Friday that he has officially become a bonafide asylum seeker in the Netherlands, ensuring that he cannot be deported back to the Philippines until his application is processed.
Roque shared the news during a gathering in The Hague, celebrating former President Rodrigo Duterte’s birthday.
During his interview, Roque reflected on the emotional experience of finally signing his asylum application. He revealed that the moment brought him to tears, saying, “Napahagulho!”, he added that “Wala nang tago nang tago.”
After six and a half months of living in hiding, Roque expressed immense relief at the thought of no longer fearing deportation.
