BUTUAN CITY – Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon erupted again on Tuesday night, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

The phreatic eruption began at approximately 7:43 p.m. and is still ongoing. Residents in the nearby areas, including Cogon and Irosin, reported hearing rumbling sounds from the volcano.

This latest eruption follows another early Monday morning eruption, which produced a plume that reached 4,500 meters above the crater. Despite the recent activity, Phivolcs has maintained Bulusan’s status at Alert Level 1.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
