BUTUAN CITY – A suspect was shot and killed following a confrontation with police after an alleged robbery at a gasoline station in Brgy. Tagapua, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur, on Saturday, October 4. The deceased was identified as Chris Jay Siano, 24, from Sitio Durian, Purok 3, Brgy. Lucac, San Francisco. His accomplice managed to flee the scene.
According to police, Siano and the other suspect carried out a robbery at the MJP Ventures Corporation Mini Gasoline Station in Purok 1, Brgy. Tagapua. As the suspects attempted to escape on a black Sky Go motorcycle, officers from the Regional Intelligence Division, who were in the area, witnessed the crime.
The police immediately gave chase, leading to a shootout. During the pursuit, the windshield of the police’s white Hyundai Accent CRDI was struck. Officers returned fire, hitting Siano in the head.
Siano’s body has been taken to a funeral home, while authorities continue to search for the accomplice who managed to escape.
