BUTUAN CITY – A traffic enforcer from the City Traffic and Transportation Management Department was caught on video clinging to a moving delivery truck in a dramatic attempt to issue a citation on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at around 2:30 PM.
The video, uploaded by a netizen, shows the enforcer desperately holding onto the truck after the driver failed to stop despite being flagged down by the officer. Even though the enforcer initially attempted to stop the truck, the driver refused to comply, prompting the officer to take the extreme and risky measure of clinging to the vehicle to prevent it from fleeing.
According to Jane Baker, the Traffic Management Division Head of the City Transportation and Traffic Management Department, the driver of the delivery truck, who tried to evade the enforcer and accelerate away, could potentially face charges of frustrated homicide due to the dangerous manner in which he attempted to run over the officer.
