BUTUAN CITY –The acceptance of Jesus Christ into our hearts as King is one of the most important acts that Filipinos, especially Christians, should do this Holy Week.

Just as the people of Jerusalem welcomed Jesus with palm branches, so should we open our hearts to Christ.

This was the message shared by Fr. Daryl Glenn Tatoy, spokesperson for the Diocese of Butuan, who emphasized that we must reflect on how deeply we have welcomed Jesus into our lives.

In line with this, Fr. Tatoy urged the faithful to actively participate in the liturgical activities during Holy Week, a time when people should reflect on the need for change and renewal of their spiritual faith. He expressed hope that the commemoration of Jesus’ suffering on the cross would lead to fruitful and meaningful celebrations, culminating in the victorious celebration of His resurrection.

Fr. Tatoy’s message was shared after the successful celebration of Palm Sunday in the Diocese of Butuan, where the faithful gathered to bless palm fronds in a solemn ceremony marking the official start of Holy Week.
