BUTUAN CITY – A tragic incident unfolded today, January 20, 2025, as the body of a missing individual was discovered at a beach resort in Lianga, Surigao del Sur.
The victim has been identified as Jenuel Peniones, a resident of Purok 9, Barangay Lapinigan, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur. Authorities believe that Peniones tragically drowned while at the resort.
The search was carried out by the MDRRMO San Franz Rescue Team and the MDRRMO Lianga Rescue Team. Following an extensive search operation, the victim’s body was located, bringing closure to the search efforts.
Local authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
